Children’s Ground release Merne Mwerre music video – promoting healthy eating and connecting to Country

Children’s Ground launched the music video for Merne Mwerre, a celebration of keeping tyerrtye (body) and utnenge (spirit) strong by eating good food and connecting to Apmere (Country). Merne Mwerre, translating to ‘Good Food’ in English, premiered at an exclusive showing in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) in the Todd Mall.

Following the retirement of the iconic Shirley Smith Tug that serviced Sydney Harbour waters for almost 40 years, Port Authority of NSW presented the brass bell from the retired tug to the family of Shirley Smith including City of Sydney Councillor Yvonne Weldon AM.

People have gathered in Tasmania to protest the recent mishandling of Aboriginal ancestral remains. The remains, identified through coronial inquests, were dropped off to the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) in paper bags by a representative of the coroner's office last week.
