Kumanjayi Walker coronial inquest begins in Alice Springs

Kumanjayi Walker, a 19-year-old man from the remote Indigenous community of Yuendumu, 300km from Alice Springs, became another Aboriginal death in custody.

Wiradjuri elder Michael Lyons, who lives in Narrandera, said 1 per cent of water in the Murrumbidgee River was allocated to Aboriginal people for cultural or environmental use.
